Flowers, chocolates and dinner dates. Love is in the air which means it’s time to start thinking about your plans for Valentine’s Day in Indianapolis. Will you and your sweetie catch a movie, or do you plan on taking them to their favorite restaurant? If you’re having trouble deciding, here are six events happening February 14th.
FIRST FRIDAY SWING DANCE AT THE FORT
Grab your partner and your best dance shoes and make your way to this event on Thursday, February 14, at 8 p.m. Be prepared for a night filled with professional swing dance music and a lot of fun. Not much of a dancer but still looking to hear some tunes? Grab a seat at the Theater at the Fort, located at 8920 Otis Avenue. Tickets are $10.
ICONOCLAST POETRY SLAM FT. OKARA IMANI
On Thursday, February 14, gather with artists at the Icono Slam to hear rhymes and have a good time. Hosted by Dante Fratturo, this show starts at 7:30 p.m. but doors open at 7 p.m. Purchase tickets at the door for $5 or buy them online here.
LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED DINNER DANCE
This fancy dinner features a three-course meal and live entertainment. You’re sure to win your valentine over February 14 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling 317-636-0396. This event is located at 401 E. Michigan St at The Rathskeller.
SWEETS FOR YOUR SWEETIE
This Valentine’s Day celebrate with your partner at the Garfield Park Arts Center by attending Sweets for Your Sweetie. A romantic evening involving chocolate and coffee. This is a chance for you and your valentine to sample foods as well as learn about them. Two sessions are available, the first starting at 6:30 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m., and the second starting at 8 p.m. and ending at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person and you can make reservations by dialing 317-327-7275.
FRESH MOZZARELLA MAKING CLASS – VALENTINE’S DAY COUPLES NIGHT
Calling all cheese lovers! Join couples on Valentine’s Day for a mozzarella making class. You’ll enjoy quality time with your lover while learning all about cheese and how to make it. You will also get to enjoy delicious, gooey cheese. This event is located at Tulip Tree Creamery. Tickets are $120 and include admission for two.
MY FUNNY VALENTINE
Have a laugh on Valentine’s Day at the My Funny Valentine comedy show. Located at the Irving Theater this show includes acts from Joe Bates, Kathie Heltage, The Breakes, and more. Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets are $10 or $15 for couples.
