Hi there. My name is Keshia McEntire, creator of heartbeatindy.com. For as long as I can remember I have been passionate about storytelling in all of its forms. As a journalist and freelance writer, I have been published in Blavity, Relevant Magazine, Black Girl Nerds, NUVO, the Indianapolis Recorder, the Atlanta Daily World, the New Pittsburgh Courier, FAF Collective, and more.
At my day job as a web content strategist, the most I have the chance to write about is our products. (I do love my job BTW!)
I created this blog to inspire myself to keep writing creatively. It helps that it gives me an excuse to explore my city and meet intresting people.
I know that the news can be … a little bleak at times. It’s full of politics and crimes and YouTube videos that will kill you children (I’m looking at you, MoMo). I like to think there is still a bit of positivity in the world, and that goodness can be found in the most unlikely of places.
So click my follow button as I share Indy’s good news, with a focus on the arts, the humanities and inspiring members of the community. I hope to also provide writers a platform to share their stories with the community.
Be sure to follow Heartbeat Indy on Twitter at HeartbeatIndy and find me on Facebook at Keshia Is Write. You may also email me at heartbeatindy@gmail.com.
